These are mostly unknown authors, the type of people whom would seldom get published without an "in" into the industry. That's where the horror is rawest, the writing the most experimental.
Each author comes from outside the industry machine—working class, genderqueer, bisexual, and otherwise excluded from traditional publishing. HOUDINI Magazine exists to give these voices print without an agent, an algorithm, or a TikTok following. This anthology is one of the most direct realizations of that mission.
